Executive Board Member | Hospitality Committee Chair, Marketing Committee Chair
Fall 2016 - Spring 2019
Wake ‘n Shake, a 12-hour dance marathon, is Wake Forest University’s largest student-run philanthropy event. Over the last thirteen years, Wake ‘n Shake has raised over $2.5 million for the Brian Piccolo Cancer Research Fund, founded in honor of former Wake Forest student-athlete and Chicago Bears player Brian Piccolo. Between 2016 and 2018, we increased registration by 10% and fundraising by $100,000.
As a member of the Executive Board, I help manage registration for 1,000+ dancers, brainstorm and execute marketing and fundraising initiatives, and coordinate schedules with entertainers, university administrators, and guest speakers—our cancer-surviving “champions.”
From 2016-2018, I served as the Hospitality Committee Chair. I oversaw a twenty-member team and effectively managed $7K budget. I also communicated and negotiated with 100+ area restaurants, businesses, and corporate sponsors to solicit and secure food donations and implemented innovative planning techniques for three meals.
For the 14th annual Wake ‘n Shake in 2019, I served as the Marketing Committee Chair. I managed all social media accounts (Facebook, Instagram, and Snapchat) to promote the event to students and administration. I planned and executed the theme reveal and communicated with campus organizations while developing and maintaining strategic marketing initiatives.
